Mary Neubauer is a native of Milwaukee and 1977 graduate of Pulaski High School. In 1986, she co-founded the “Wisconsin Association for Children of Alcoholics”. Mary joined three writers in 1988 and produced; “Children of Alcoholics: The Truth Behind Hard Love”. As an adult learner she returned to college and graduated with a Dual Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2006. Her focus in Mental Health Advocacy expanded as a result of her own diagnosis with Bipolar Disorder in 1985.
In 2011, Mary shared an original writing, “Survival” with Brenda Wesley, who is the writer and director of, “Pieces in My Own Voice”. Mary was invited to the join the cast. Inclusion in the play has been a dream, come true for Mary, providing a venue to share her journey of recovery. Mary is a tireless advocate committed to sharing her hope for individuals who have lived through similar experiences, their family members and their significant others. It is her hope that her contributions can help ease the pain of their journeys to mental health recovery.
